Family Counseling Services and Cortland Prevention Resources are pleased to announce that the agency has been approved for three full-time AmeriCorps positions to work with our staff. The overall purpose of this program is to combat the opioid and heroin epidemic by providing AmeriCorps services in the form of prevention, navigation to treatment, and recovery support.
The Rural Health Service Corps is an AmeriCorps National Service Program administered by the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. The purpose of the Rural Health Service Corps is to provide meaningful service and learning opportunities for people committed to improving the health and lives of those living in this region of New York State.
One full-time position will be assigned to Cortland Prevention Resources and work with our staff to provide evidence-based prevention programming to school-age youth in our community. The other two positions will work with our outpatient clinic staff to provide navigation to treatment and recovery support for individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or in recovery.
